Sven Durland is a Lake Oswego (Portland) Oregon resident since 1986. Cameras and digital imaging have been part of his previous engineering career for 25 years. Photography is an ongoing passion of his. From his first camera as a young child to his latest electronic marvel, his interest in capturing images grew stronger. He learned to master the various phases of the digital “darkroom” by being an early adopter of digital photography.

"The most amazing phase is to see your image "develop" out of a large format printer with details larger than life. The quality you can achieve with modern technology is just phenomenal. Print longevity is important to me and I'm therefore taking advantage of UltraChrome K3 archival printing with pigmented inks. Besides longevity, the visual result is stunning."

A photographer for many years Sven Durland began exhibiting his photos in 2005. He has since been in several art shows. In June of 2006 he received four awards in the same show. (Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts 2006 - the largest art exhibit in the Northwest.) He was also invited to show his work at the coveted Lake Oswego Arts Chronicle 2006.
